In this video, we install and try out Counteract Balance Beads as we replace the rear tire and balance both wheels on the 636 with only basic tools and NO tools needed at all for the balance portion thanks to the Beads.
I hate taking my bike to a shop for anything. I’ve always done my own work and have had bad luck when letting someone else do it for me.
Plus, add the fact that I travel all year, I’d rather not spend a bunch of money to let someone else do what I could do myself.
This video is pretty long and drawn out, I apologize! I get caught up in details a lot and have a hard time leaving info out that I think was helpful or interesting to me. I know I’m a bit of a nerd with this stuff🤷but if that’s not your deal, that’s what the FF button is for 😎👉
Tire Change Technique(more “nerd” stuff):
I don’t talk in detail about the actual changing of the tire in this video because I cover that much better here in my How To Change a Dirt Bike Tire video. The only real difference is that with the street tire I have the wheel on a bucket and take both sides of the tire off the same side letting it fall down, vs with the skinny dirt bike tire, I have the wheel on another tire, open the tire around the rim and pull the rim up out of the tire.
Words of Caution:
I had an issue a while after installing these with beads causing my valve to get stuck open when I check my air pressure. since cleaning the valve stem out good with a straw brush and using the provided replacement valves, I haven’t had an issue so make sure you clean the valves stem out good and use their valves if you install the beads through the valve stem like I did.
Another Way to do it:
Install the beads that I will be using next time is to pour them straight into the tire before you set the bead after installing the tire.
The kit only costs about $20.
